Ellab has appointed Gergely Sved as its new chief executive officer (CEO) following the departure of Ludvig Enlund.

He will formally join in June when he will take over from Andreas Morthorst, the company’s chief financial officer who’s currently also serving as its acting interim CEO.

Anders Hedegaard, chair of Ellab, said: “Gergely brings a wealth of relevant experience, and we look forward to working with him as we execute our ambitious growth strategy.

“We are grateful for Ludvig’s contribution to bringing Ellab to where we are today and wish him well in his onwards career.”

Sved is a healthcare and life sciences executive, who previously worked at Ecolab, which provides water, hygiene and infection prevention solutions and services. He served as executive vice president and group president for the company’s Healthcare and Life Sciences division.

While there he led the growth strategy for its Cleanroom, API and Bioprocessing businesses and before that led the expansion of Ecolab’s Endoscopy, Surgical and Infection Prevention businesses – including during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Prior to Ecolab, Sved worked at General Electric in various roles for 23 years, a stint that most recently included time at GE Healthcare, where for six years he served as its vice president and general manager Europe services.

Commenting on his forthcoming appointment to Ellab, Sved said: “It has great products and services, and a highly experienced team, and I am looking forward to working together to help Ellab fulfil its tremendous potential.”
